“I ask little more of these first works. They were a means of stating my aesthetic position. A position which I shall maintain at all costs and which may eventually enable me to express in a less independent but, it is to be hoped, a more perfect way the new relations of sound – which I know to exist – and which I’m sure will bloom in the artistic style I am attempting to discover and elucidate.
